Pilates Education Group
Teacher Training Program
Kevin A. Bowen, President and Owner of Pilates Miami/Pilates Education Group began working with Michele Larsson and Core Dynamics Pilates in 1998 to offer teacher training and continuing education workshops based on historical Pilates in the Miami area. In 2004 Anna Alvarez, Core Dynamics graduate and owner of The Pilates Studio Miami Shores joined the Core Dynamics as a Teacher Trainer. Core Dynamics has trained and developed many successful Pilates Teachers both in the Greater Miami area and Internationally.
Kevin and Anna now continue the same high quality Teacher Training Program—based on the Core Dynamics model—through The Pilates Education Group (PEG).
The Pilates Education Group (PEG) Teacher Training Program is based upon the work of Joseph H. Pilates with additions made by Eve Gentry and Michele Larsson as well as sound bio-mechanical principles of movement. The Program will continue to focus on developing the ability to teach the individual versus just teaching the exercises or leading classes. The training participant will receive vital information and exposure to skills that can maximize the Pilates experience for a wide variety of clientele. The Pilates Education Group (PEG) offers a unique "Boutique" program based on historical Pilates, with small class size, individual attention, mentorship experiences and highly qualified affiliate teacher trainers.
The Pilates Education Group (PEG) is also proud to continue its affiliation with Core Dynamics Pilates and the other Core Dynamics affiliate studios including Moving Breath in Tempe, Az, Well Spring Studio in Pittsburgh, PA, and Position Red in Chicago, Il. Students may participate for one of their weekend intensives in one of these high caliber Pilates Teacher Training studios. The PEG Teacher Training Program consists of intensive weekend
workshops that focus on mat and equipment exercises. These workshops are offered both in Miami and around the country. The teacher trainee will also participate in self directed study and mentorship to develop skills and knowledge for teaching group mat classes and individual Pilates lessons.
As a Pilates Education Group Program student you will learn:
• The concept behind the system of exercises
•Historical Pilates exercises
•The primary goal of each exercise
•How to modfy or adapt exercise for a clinet's individual needs.
•Why there is a specific order to the exercises
•How to adapt a specific exercise to a client
•How to structure a private lesson

Teacher Training Application Process
Application Requirements
Complete the application Form provided and submit one copy to Pilates Education Group. Application Forms and all accompanying material should be sent to:

- Submit a resume that tells us a little more about your professional & Pilates background.
- Submit a Practical Studio Mentorship agreement.
- Submit one letter of recommendation from your Pilates instructor.
- You will be notified by mail once you are accepted into the Teacher Training program. It is recommended that you purchase the Level 1 & 2 Exercises video of DVD to assist you to properly prepare for workshop Level 1.
- Once you choose your workshop location, pay a deposit of $200 to Inside Out Method, Inc. dba Pilates Education Group 60 days prior to the workshop weekend. You will receive more specific information about the workshop location and times once you pay your workshop deposit.
- All workshops must be paid in full 30 days before the date that the workshop is scheduled to begin. Contact Pilates Education Group at toll free 877.573.4430 for additional information.

Cost Level 1: $850 / Cost Level 2, 3: $750 / Cost Level 4: $850
(each weekend)
Total Cost of Workshops: $3,200
Written & Practical Exam Fee: $225
TOTAL COST: $3,375
(The program does NOT include apprentice fees. Apprenticing at the Pilates Miami studio is $1,000, which includes: use of the studio, observation time, special discounted rates on private sessions and classes, complimentary mat classes (based on availability), and open gym hours.)
